Who should use our services:      Domestic Householders        Local Authorities         Commercial Businesses

Domestic Householders

Householders have a duty of care for safe disposal of their WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronics Equipment). With regards to hazardous waste, such as your television (TV) set, or your computer monitor, (or monitors), this means ensuring that these items are separately collected, to ensure that they can be treated and recycled in the appropriate manner. Restructa can arrange to collect your television or computer equipment. Please complete or contact form to find out more details about our service. If you wish us to collect your TV or monitor, we will send you a nylon bag to contain the item, and arrange transport to collect from your home at a suitable time. Protect the environment through safe disposal and recycling of your television or computer.

Local Authorities / Councils

Local Authorities and councils also have a duty of care to ensure that a television brought to a civic amenity site is separated, ready for collection by recyclers such as Restructa. The public now expect local authorities to provide areas at the CA sites to facilitate safe disposal and recycling. TV's and monitors are now classified as hazardous waste by Defra (England and Wales) and SEERAD (Scotland), and are now banned from domestic landfill. As there has been a delay in the WEEE Directive (now estimated to be enforced by June 2007 earliest), Defra have allocated grants for local authorities, to enable them to put the proper collection facilities in place at their civic amenity sites. This will allow separate collection, and therefore safe disposal. The grant for the UK up until June 2006 is 14 million pounds, and all councils will be able to access this grant, provided they can demonstrate that they have put in place an effective system for collection, treatment and recycling of cathode ray tubes (CRT's) found in televisions and computer monitors. Restructa can help and advise local authorities with regards to collections systems, ensuring that the most cost effective system is deployed at each of their CA sites, ensuring efficient, safe collection and removal of TV's from the site, with minimum supervision. Contact Restructa for further information.
